Default the wisest anglers on the Po.

Nice pic of a blue heron and a kingfisher. No doubt the best on the river!

I hit the Po today in the mist, the river was up but not bad. Two peeps fishin, I asked how they were doin, they hadn't had a bite in an hour. I almost went home and back to bed! No one was using fatties, so I figured I would give it 10 minutes and see what happens.

First cast, first fish! The two other guys were not happy. Two more casts and another fish, Now they were getting pissed. I spent the next hour and a half pickin browns. I ended up with 10 fish. As I walked out I handed over my remaining fatheads and said good luck.

ten more to the tally

Steve,

When you say fatties, do you mean fat head minnows? Do they work well? I want to see if i can get some where I am and give it a shot.

Hey Steve,

I'm just a little curious how you transport the minnows. I was at Frank's the other day and was going to buy some, but I wasn't sure what I'd carry them in.

Thanks! Nice report btw. I probably would have been a little upset with you as well if I were those guys!

Cheers,
Dave

I get the fatties from Franks myself. You can buy a cheap plastic bucket right there. I reccomend you go to walmart and buy the float troll (yellow and white) bucket with the spring trap door. Tie a shoe lace around the handle and a clip (small caribiner) to the other end and find something on you to clip it to.

Nice - Might just walk over to walmart now if it's not raining. I knew I moved next door to that mad house for a reason - lol

Joe,

yes, fathead minnows. It's like throwing a snickers bar to a fat kid hook em thru the lips and let er rip.
