GAMBLER --Canyon Report
Gambler had good trip, Sat/Sun on the tuna grounds. Shortly after we set up our Drift, Edwin hooked and landed a 125lb swordfish. 30 minutes later, he boated his twin. He was not targeting swordfish, the predators grabbed his regular butterfish bait with a 3 ounce weight.
Shortly after the swords came in, we got blasted by 40 to 70 lb yellowfin. The action was very good from 3AM till daylight and then we still picked away until about 8am. Besides the yellowfin, the anglers took 3 nice longfin and some mahi that swam through the slick throughout the trip. As we drifted in 700ft, Edwin dropped down for tile and hooked up almost every time on 8 to 10lbers. It was a great trip. Our next trip leaves tomorrow morning. Most of our trips are booked but openings come available at times and it's always a good idea to check with our office.
