Re: Saltist
I don’t have any experience with these specific reels but Daiwa does have a good reputation. Several people I know using the Saltiga for Blackfishing, it’s pricey but pretty much bulletproof.

Re: Saltist
I have a conventional level wind 30 and love it...Fished it hard for 3 years for tog N bass/ busted level wind( totally my faults ,stuck finger in while casting) ...Real seat fixed for $34 and back to awesome...Haven’t used a spinner or non level wind - but I give this reel 👍👍

Re: Saltist
i like the saltist a lot, and used it quite a bit for tog, but it can feel bulky to me now since i switched to calcuttas a few years ago. I keep 2 saltists around for back ups as they are very tanky, have a fast retrieve and are low maintenance. You sacrifice weight and sensitivity for reliability and brute power. Overall i'd say a great reel for when the suicide bite is on, but not so much when it's a scratch.
