![]() Hey guys. Was hoping someone had some info. Recently was given a 11’6” Jon boat and a trailer for it. From what I can find neither needs a title due to size. Aside from a notarized bill of sale anyone know what else the MVC might need? Little back info. The boat has registration stickers on it. The earliest I can see is 88 or 89 with the oldest being 71. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I have a apptwith MVC June 15th. Just trying to make this as painless as possible.....I’m sure it won’t be LOL. Do they ask for pictures?
I understand the under 12ft no title is needed only reason I’m registering the boat is so I can put my electric outboard on it. And as I understand it the trailer also has no title cause it weighs under 2500 pounds. Great fun for any info |

![]() It won't hurt you to have an officially notarized letter explaining the situation of how you got the boat and why it doesn't have a title, signed by you and the previous owner. That's the document i used when i was given a similar sized boat and i had no issues, but that was probably 12 years ago at this point.
for the trailer, idk, i have a small trailer for my current boat and it still needed a title, registration, everything.... previous owner had all that though so i didn't have any issues. dont' go to randolph dmv, that's my last bit of advice hahaha
