First trip of the season today...
Hey gang....finally got the Avery Lynn set up and my fellow club member Steve T. and I headed out of Monmouth Cove for some Tog action this morning. Making a quick stop to calibrate the Rhodan, we headed out to the ocean grounds.
South swell...nothing terrible at all with the light west wind made for a nice day on the water. Made our first stop and dropped greens and started to connect immediately. It was non stop until the current kicked up another notch though. Seems the bay flooded outward and bite turned off. Moved south some and found the fish again. Had some shorts that went back and the bite slowed once again. Total for today was 5 nice tog....with one going to 7lbs. Beautiful sunny day today...no complaints. Hoping to head back out one day this week before the tog season closes. FYI: SHBA fishing club is still accepting new members...if you're interested give me a shout! Bill
