SBRR Run and Gun
Took the day off to get some very important errands done but they took less time than I thought, good thing the rods were in the car! Started in Clinton and worked my way downstream. Started with the trout magnet and Right off the bat I caught two stockies followed by a yellow perch. I wanted to get into some smallmouth, so I hopped back in the car and moved further downstream.
I basically took a tour of all the bridges in the area and got follows/hits at almost all the ones I went to. Most of these spots I had drove by in years past but never fished. Next spot I caught a rock bass and a dink smallie both on a ned rig. Continued to look around for the fish, moving from spot to spot. Fished for just over 2 and a half hours before calling it quits and getting back to other errands. It was a great day on the beautiful SBRR and I can’t wait to go back to look for some bigger smallmouth. Tight lines! |

Re: SBRR Run and Gun
perch are rare for me in the raritan and its branches, nice find there! Did you try curly tail grubs? They work well for me when I swing them or hang em in currents and reel them slowly through current breaks/eddies

Re: SBRR Run and Gun
Thanks man! I didn’t try any grubs but I will next time. Most of my fish were on a swing. I kept getting savage strikes from rainbow trout too, they were everywhere, but the hook on the ned rig jighead is a little but for their mouths!
