To you guys that fish herring regularly - when fishing this time of year, do you keep them in a circulating live well in the boat or prefer a cooler with an aerator?
I pretty much only use bait when ice fishing so I don't usually have them on the boat.

Usually just a cooler or pail with an aerator. They hold pretty good in the cold weather, seldom have a problem in the warm weather either with a little ice. Than again I don't have a circulating live well. I think they may be fine either way.

Pre fished the big lake today with a bunch of NJFers and managed to get myself the big SKUNK. Marked some fish in some popular fall areas but nothing willing to chew. There were a couple fish caught by my fellow brothers but nothing to brag about. Hopefully tomorrow's a better day. If you have tricks up your sleeve you better bring em out. It's been a lil slow lately! Let's give em hell! See you MANIACS in the AM! I may be anchored up on the humps before sunrise gettin jiggy!!!
P.S. Yes it will be blowing pretty nasty tomorrow so come prepared!!!
