Thumbs up Raritan river car pulled 9/14/17:

Hope this is the last car to be pulled out of the river. Also pulled was a large ride on lawnmower and a car motor. We put 2 car batteries up on the bank today as well. Big thank you to Somerset County Parks Department.
Robert St section Raritan Borough.

So glad Price's is gone. They dumped so much garbage in that river!

Way to go, Andy!

There was a baby catfish in the lawn mower that was pulled after the car!

Deja' Vu all over again? Didn't you all pull out another car this spring? There's got to be a story behind all of this pollution! I'm glad you care enough to do something. But, what about those who live nearby? I doubt if the police even care to do a follow up on the car's ownership and the circumstances that led to its demise. What a shame. Someone egressiosly pollutes the environment and faces no consequences. Try driving through that borough at five miles per hour over the speed limit and see what happens. Roll a couple of oil and gasoline-filled autos into a body of water from which drinking water is drawn and it goes ignored! Something is wrong! Kudos on your persistence! I would have become frustrated and demoralized long ago!

Okay! You've got me curious to ask the question, " What or who is Price's and how are they involved in the dumping and pollution?" There's a story there and no one is talking. It just makes me wonder why.

Lightbulb Re: Raritan river car pulled 9/14/17:

Price's junkyard was on the river banks at this location for many many years. The junkyard went completely under water a few times during hurricanes etc.
Now with recent dam removal just down river the sediment has gone away and starting to expose what was dumped and or flooded into the river.
