Miss Belmar - WEEKEND WRAP UP
Saturday afternoon, fishing was tough. It was a beautiful night and we ended up catching some short fluke and short sea bass, which we had to throw back. There was action, but the only keepers we had were ling.
Sunday morning, we started off fishing inside the edge of the mud hole. We saw a few blues on top and ended up catching a few mackerel each stop. We then worked our way east of the mud hole looking for blues and ended up making a few trips in the deep catching a few more mackerel. We ended up back on the beach and we had a pretty tough day looking and searching in different areas. Sunday afternoon, we fished to the northeast. We picked away at some nice sea bass, which were all released. We only had a handful of short fluke and one 8 lb black fish, which were released as well. Today, we ran well north of shark river inlet in different areas than we looked yesterday and we ended up catching a few small 2-4 blues on a few stops. At the end of the day, we caught a couple more fish on a couple of drifts. Interested in an extra keeper for the fall striper season starting September 1st? Get your bonus tag HERE.
