Re: Keyport Fishing ?
Was that you off of Sea Bright this afternoon in a pontoon boat? I was also fishing in the same area. Don't see to many pontoon boats out in the ocean especially on a day like today. Hope you caught some fish!

Re: Keyport Fishing ?
Anyone out in a pontoon boat on Saturday the 24th had a death wish.actually anyone out, especially in the morning, including me, was nuts. Brutal conditions almost solid white water at times. Fish were nowhere to be found, when you could actually fish. Extremely low tide didn't help either. Cliffwood Beach looked like you could walk out a couple hundred yards,on solid ground.

Re: Keyport Fishing ?
Anyone considering taking a pontoon boat in the ocean please read the following link:
http://www.nj.com/monmouth/index.ssf...search_un.html Happened two years ago and if not for the response time of vessels coming to their aid result would have been considerably worse. Conditions can change on a dime in spite of a flat calm day where even power boats struggle getting back to the docks and navigating inlets. Pontoon boats have no place in the ocean....period. Notice how calm the ocean was in this article, mouth of the inlet painted a different picture all together. |
