Blank thru handle question
Been slowly replacing my older freshwater rods with ones with the split eva foam grips because for me they cast farther, feel lighter, and seem to give me a better 'feel'. I was under the impression that the ones I've been buying have been 'blank thru handle' construction as that's how they appear. One has come loose inside the foam below the reel seat so it appears that it's a separate glued on piece. Is it safe to assume that unless specifically designated 'blank thru handle' the split grip rods are not?

Re: Blank thru handle question
What rod? You can usually find out real quick if it's through handle.

Re: Blank thru handle question
Typically if the rod is sold as a "one piece" design then it should be as you say blank thru handle design. All rods/blanks are different.

Re: Blank thru handle question
That's another reason I was surprised, I've been buying one piece 7' rods because I like the 'feel' transmitted to the handle and just assumed it was a solid blank.

been combining daiwa rods 20-50 dollars with shimano/kastking reels 20-50. the 20.00 daiwa is what came loose in the handle (crossfire series, doesn't state 'blank thru' in description) http://www.daiwa.com/us/contents/rod...cfe/index.html |
