Default Trophy Bass on Kayak

Went out Saturday to one of my local ponds on Kayak. The lilys are fully grown in and weeds/grass is thick. It was a bit chilly and overcast following the sunny hot days we had last week. Didn’t know if they fish would be in their “cold Front” bite. Fished for the first hour and the action was Ok. The perch and pickerel were hitting small white grubs or a 3inch swimbait in white. Tried going natural nude colors and perch colors. A dink here or these. Got a little bored and saw some big bluegills, so I put on half of a red gulp earthworm on my 5 foot ultralight. Boom!! Everything was swimming straight at it. The Bass, the gills and the pickerel. Saw a MONSTER bass floating in and around some lilys and scrambled to put a whole worm on my medium light bass rod. After a few cast..BOOM! Massive strike, massive fight. She was pulling drag all over the place. She went into the grassy weeds deep and I couldn’t get her out. I eventually floated over and got ahold of the flouro leaders. I grabbed and rocked back and forth for several minutes until she emerged. What a beauty on a kayak and medium light tackle. I would estimate 6-7lbs? I really need to get a scale. Definitely one of my most memorable catches of all time.

No way that's 6. More like 5lbs 15 oz. Just kidding dude, very cool and way to not give up on the fish in the weeds.
