![]() Got an early start and had a little surprise as 2 deer were in my neighborhood, lower Bergen county, never saw any deer in my 10 years living here. Headed up to Mahwah and was on the river by 615, by 630 caught 3 stockies, one smaller than the next, wound up staying in same general area til noon, worked up and down about a 100 yard stretch and wound up with a limit plus. Size was pitiful, all small fish. Only saw 1 other fisherman today.

![]() I live in Bergen and headed west today for trout because I usually can't stand the crowds at the Ramapo. Got my limit plus but had to work for them. Did some walking. The biggest was 12" and was caught furthest from the stocking point. I think the "bigger" fish have been in the water since early April.
I could not get any hits on fatheads or lures today. 2 on powerbait, all the rest on butter worms. |
