Gannets
I saw a huge amount of gannet action just off the beach yesterday while walking the dog. It was a little too snotty to see if there was any surface action, but from the amount of dive bombing going on, it was clear that there was LOTS of life under the surface. Anyone know what's going on out there?

Likely diving on Herring and or Bunker.

At this time, last year, the migrating gannets were dive bombing bunkers off Sandy Hook. I took these photos last year when the gannets formed what some people call a tornado as they dove by the hundreds on the bunkers that had entered Sandy Hook Bay.
