I attended the Round Valley Trout Association meeting at the American Legion Hall on Rt. 22 in Whitehouse on Thursday January 19th. Big crowd tonight with will over 40 people in attendance. This was the workshop meeting and there was a very good presentation on lures and what months work best for each type of fishing. I also renewed my membership for 2017, $25.00. A very well organized meeting and plenty of enthusiasm despite the low water levels. There was also a table full of really nice freshwater lures for sale, priced at $3.00 each ! There ware all types of jigs and shad flutter spoons for sale also !
Stocking committee suggested putting in 200 Brown Trout around 12" long along with 100 Golden Trout around the same size this spring, they also want to stock a few large Rainbow Trout.

Don't forget about the State Lake Trout survey this past fall when they gill netted a male at 38" weighing in at 21 lbs. and a 30" female at 11lbs. and another male at 29" weighing in at 9 lbs. The Division aims to continue the harvest of Lake Trout from 15 to 24 inches, with the intention of achieving a more desirable fishery for trophy fish.
There may be some changes to amount of trout stocked in RV by the State this spring due to the lower water levels and less fishing pressure.
