It seems my experience this year versus last may not be the consensus. Was this year better than last? Not for me, slow inconsistent start and more smaller fish at the end. Weekend warrior only it seemed like the charter guys did better during the week. Also looks like the keepers are gone already.

This was hands down the best striper season I've had. I only fish for stripers on the surf or on foot in the back bays. I caught fish just about on every one of my outings. I probably landed nearly 300 - 400 fish from 16" - 45lbs with majority being in the 28"-36" range. A few days in November were out of a National Geographic worthy experience with miles of bass and peanuts as far as the eye could see each way crashing on bait in no more then 2' of water. Truly some amazing fishing trips.

This year was epic - spring and fall. This is for the RB area. I dont know how it was down south. We did not have to go south of the rocks.

This was probably the best fall season end-to-end we've had here in NJ in decades. It's the best I've had personally in the surf and on the beach, and on the boat, it was basically the same. We had very few slow days!

...Spring was great too!

Last year was hands down better for us not catching a short till November 30th with no trolling involved all on the big bunker.this fall we did catch a lot but it seemed to be if you didn't go to trolling on most days you didn't catch .out of all the times I looked at the party boats jigging I only saw a fish or 2 or none jigged when they were around us.beach fishing much better on pnuts this fall.out at least 20 times in boat

Capt. Allen,

Couldn't agree with you more....hands down best fall in years. Trolling MoJo rigs crushed much bigger fish than casting/retrieve method. Have a wonderful Christmas and great New Year.

Lots of fish around this fall for sure.... Only thing lacking up north was the late season jigging Sandeel bite we usually have in December.
