Fish I.D. please
These were all over the river last night. Yellow perch? Walleye? Something I never heard of?

Re: Fish I.D. please
.
I have never seen anything like that before. From the perch-like fins, I'm going to guess it's some kind of 'Darter'. .

Re: Fish I.D. please
If it's not a baby walleye, it's called 'bait'

Re: Fish I.D. please
Based on the coloration I would say thats what it is.. Pretty common , There are a bunch of similar species that years ago would just be called "Johnny Darters"... I used to use them for bait... bob

Re: Fish I.D. please
this thread gave me some serious deja vu from about 3 weeks ago, except jigman is my 4 year old and my response was "bait' because i had no idea. theyre not very hardy when used for bait, in case anyone was wondering.

Re: Fish I.D. please
Just went through my Peterson Field Guide to North American Freshwater Fishes. The double fin on top - Darter. The are no less than 12 illustrated pages of Darters in the book. Can't pinpoint the exact one.
