![]() First and foremost - with the fishing this good we need to get out as soon as the wind lets up and we had a couple spots open this Wednesday-Thursday at a deep discount but those filled up within minutes with an email to our mailing list last night - sorry. (If you want to be on our mailing list just shoot me an email and we will put you on it - adam@canyonrunner.com)
So now I'm posting here to give you a shot at another trip for Sunday-Monday - October, 16-17 or the following week as the fish are here big-time and we decided to extend the season. Here's the report -- Once again this year the water shows up, the yellowfin show up on the chunk (and the longfin on the troll) and then another tropical system blows us away - this happened first week of September too. We got out with both boats this Friday to Saturday fishing in what was very nice weather for most of the trip and arrived in the Hudson Canyon at the same time it appears a new body of water arrived. We did the pot hopping thing and both boats caught as many mahi as they wanted up to 20 pounds puttng more than enough meat in the box. Capt. Phil Dulanine on the 60 Ritchie put the Jarod Kaporino charter on the troll and very quickly had 5 rods go off with longfin breaking all over. Jets and Canyon Runner mini-mamba bars got he bites and a couple longfin hit the deck. Continuing on the troll they had another 3 bagger before dark and ended the afternoon troll bite with 5 longfin. The night bite saw more mahi and a few sharks until just before dusk when the yellowfin showed up under the boat. For an hour they had them under the boat and the first time charter did a good job for their first trip putting 4 in the boat but the one we lost had us chasing the fish and we lost the school or probably would have had a bunch more. These yellowfin were all 60-70+ pounds so that was enough for the group anyway and they went home early. Earlier in the week Captain Phil had the John Celentano charter out with his sons and the sons had a blast with a bunch of sharks including multiple makos including this one below caught by Rocco Celentano. I have a couple spots open Sunday-Monday at a discount if you grab them - normal price is $999 but we'll do them for $850. Or if you wish take the whole boat the following week as we just opened up the last week to a new set of trips - normal price $5495 but discounted to $4750 since it's last minute (most of our trips are booked months in advance) - First Come, First Serve so please don't be upset if they are all gone when you call.
