![]() Mushin had an Open Boat trip to the Canyons. Knowing that Tuna fishing has been tough, we started the guys on pot hopping. The guys were dialed in quickly - though the mahi were skittish and spooked easily. After putting a bunch of good mahi in the boat, we trolled well into the full moon night with no bites. We set up in the deep to start our night drift, and had a 100# sword hooked and landed in the first 15 minutes. Another missed sword during the night. We did see more and more squid as the night went on - which was a promising sign! But no tuna bites. Started pot hopping again at daybreak, and put in some more mahi. The conditions look good - we just need the tuna to show up in force.
