Default Polluted waters

We were coming out of Neptune Marina this morning and saw a polluted waters sign on channel marker. It's new, anybody know what happened? I didn't get s chance to see harbor master Ed to ask him.

I would assume it is the levels of fecal bacteria that has pledged the jersey shore this year.

This is a complete guess but I'm assuming Neptune Marina is on the Shark River Marina. If so I believe they are currently conducting the dredge operation in the north channel and if I had to make a wild ass guess maybe the polluted waters marker you saw has something to do with the impact the dredge operation is having on kicking up hazardous sediments from the dredge operation. That's a complete guess but maybe the reason for the signage. Would be curious to know what you end up finding out.

I really want to find out, there are huge blue claws all over my dock but I don't think it's a good idea to eat them. Not joking the sign had skull and cross bones. I should have really read the print on bottom. Yes, Neptune is other side.

An update on the polluted water post. I talked to Harbor Master and he said it was a activist who is uninformed more then likely. Its the only sign posted and the river is really clean, its filled with all kinds of life. So pretty much nothing, just wanted to followup, I know alot of guys on here sail from S.R.
