![]() Anyone in Sandy Hook area seen any? I saw an article that NY may be shutting down the commercial fishery for them early due to overfishing. I know there was a pod of little ones in the bay a few weeks ago but have not seen one since. As much as we hate them, they are great to have around.

![]() They were thick in the area early in into early summer but now it's hit or miss.... This is the time of year they when they go on a spawn and when that happens they shut down for a week or so.... Not sure of that's the case but maybe someone else will comment.

![]() You are correct. They are spawning and it should be two weeks till the bite is on..there are schools 20 to 30 miles off the beaches feeding on bunker schools as the head boats describe...1-3lbs are in closer but seem to be further south...I am on the hook surf fishing at least 3 days a week and have not seen any blues for at least two weeks...lotsa sea robins and big rays in the surf...will be out there again Wednesday...
