![]() Woke up late today and didn't feel like joining the canoe brigade on monksville. Decided to walk/wade my way down the wanaque river(from 2nd st) down past were it turns into lake Inez. It's right down the street, and I know from the dam to back beach is a good trout area(TCA lures only)
Went about 2 miles in(1/3 of lake Inez) the water is super low, and since the dam is managed to keep downstream wet, there wasn't much wAter. Super clear, but not much. One brave slime dart hit a spinner. A good hike, one fish not a bad day. My guess is all the fish are down by the damn in the deep water(even the upper water was cold, 66 or so) Gonna go for another dip next week.(with a bigger garbage bag, lots of trash back there) |

![]() See trash, take photos for me. I like to ruffle feathers when it comes to polluted water ways. Plus I can pass the trash photos along to the local Trout Unlimited guys, thanx.

![]() The lake yes. the river is still damed by pompton lakes; and there's still a deep pool at there. but the old lake(being 300yrds wide) is gone.
There's some nice deep spots on the river usually(I know there are further up) It's still listed as so on maps, so I end up calling it that Last edited by 23cardinal; 06-25-2016 at 03:47 PM.. |
