Halloween Tuna
Jumped on an overnight tuna trip, with a couple of friends Saturday, on a NS out of Point Pleasant. Been at least 8 years since I did this.
Fishing was kind of slow throughout the night. A couple of tuna here and there. It wasn't until around 5 AM did we get a few flurries of tuna which lasted until around 8ish. Some guys did ok some did not. Fish on both jigs and bait. My friend Chris got 3 around 40lbs each and Eric got 2 around 80lbs each. I only had 1 shot at a fish and came up empty. Yellowfin until it started getting lighter then longfin mixed in. The mates on board at least gave the 8 or so fishless fares a few pieces of tuna so I least I came home with a couple of dinners and sushi. Great to get a chance at canyon fishing again
