brent peterson 7/12/15 big blue marlin



capts kevin gerrity and dave bender took longtime customer brent peterson of staten island ny and friends out to the toms canyon saturday july11, 2015. this trip had been weathered out the past five seasons so we were happy to get the weather window. with some very dismal reports early saturday morning from some of our top notch friends i called brent and offered to move the trip back later in the year. as always with a positive attitude brent said" dave, we have the weather, we are going"
well, it was as expected the tuna fishing was non existant for most, which included us. we trolled all day without a bite. we set up at night for swords and had one good bite that came unglued. we got baqck up on the troll in the morning and the man in the blue suit came a knocking..big time.
after and showing himself in the air we settled in and backed down on him for an hour, when the dust settled we had an estimated 500lb blue marlin, our first of 2015. little did we know that ten minutes later his big brother came looking for him. we hooked another beast and after charging the boat, and jumping many times he headed for portugal and was spoolng us, just as we started to gain line back he was gone..broke the main line %%###
the motto of this story is good things happen to good people, brent's positive attitude rewarded him and us with a fish of a lifetime.

we will see these boys next season.
