Fillet knife
Looking to pick up a filet knife for use in salt or fresh water. I see knives from $10 to $200. What do you guys use, and why? Does size really matter
 ? I suppose a sheath is handy, but most are leather. Leather gets AFU by salt water, no? Thanks for the input...

West marine has new line of barracuda knives
Not bad for the price, stays fairly sharp, does not rust as bad

Sharp is all that matters. It's what you buy it for.
Is $10 sharper than $60? Does it keep it's edge inexplicably longer with a wooden, plastic or rubberized handle attached? That why we pay $400 for a cooler to save $10 in ice. The salesman got you.

dexter 1378, 1376 and the plastic sharpener, Fishermans Supply in PP, go with the thinner, 2333/2223? if you use for fluke/ling/seabass, go with the wider 1378/76 for blues/striper/cod. Carbon steel will rust so keep it dry and try soaking it in apple cider vinegar BEFORE using it. I have had a few for 20+ years.
