![]() Fished out of AH on a half day head boat. It sucked! This was my second trip this week with only four shorts caught. Not even a keeper for the whole boat. All the boats are fishing off or near the ammo pier in shallow water. Things have been very tough the past two days. I believe there is not a lot of fish like there should be this time of year. Forget about outside in the ocean. The water is really cold out there. We're behind at least three weeks water temperature wise. Many boats slamming the same grounds everyday is also hurting the fishing.

![]() I've been getting keepers from the surf 4 out of 5 days this week in Raritan Bay, including this morning. Only day I didn't I had 3 that were half an inch short. Hitting the same area for weeks on end isn't doing anybody any favors.

![]() Seventy degrees SURFACE temperature has no bearing. Chech the bottom readings where the fluke live. My friend dropped a temperature probe to the bottom and got a 59 degrees reading. And if the wind is from the SW it can get colder on the bottom and on the surf. Perfect seabass temperature. Northwest/North winds pushes the warmer shallow water from the New York shoreline down our coast. Fluking gets better.
