Default First Striper!

Any guesses out there? I checked some of the reports from last March and can't believe what a difference a year makes! If you want to reminisce for a bit, go back in the archives from last year and check some of the posts. We're waiting for the first striper report from the bayshore. Any guesses on when that will be? Check your fishing logs from the past and put in a guess. If you catch the first one, maybe you can post a picture with a time stamp to keep it legit.
Tight lines.

Does gigging it through a hole in the ice count?

Oyster Creek was not where I meant. Cliffwood, Union Beach, Keansburg and the Raritan bay shore is the zone I had in mind. Water temp is the key.

I doubt if these two March 1st bass were caught in Oyster Creek. After all, would you give away your bass location which was worth $100 and bragging rights??? I don't think so!! I suspect that the bass were caught in the area of the Great Egg Harbor power plant in south Jersey....which is near the sport shop which offered the $100 reward. Just my two cents.....

Those were caught in oyster creek

Years ago that was a spot that not too many people fished before the raritan warmed up but nowadays it's so damn crowded I don't even bother. I'll just wait for april

I heard the reports too that they were "supposedly" caught in OC, but fishermen doesn't lie right...

We're missing the point as we sit here and speculate. Was it Oyster Creek, OC, Great Egg Harbor? If we're thinking it could have been any one of these locations (or another), then go give it a shot! Sunday will be sunny and warmer...relatively speaking, that is. Get off the couch, find some open water and wet a line...you never know until you try.
