Default Mackerel fishing up north?

So it looks as if our local Mackerel fishing days are numbered here off NJ with the schools too far to the east to target. This is a shame as I relied on a few January trips to keep me in striped bait's for the summer as well as whole Macks for slammer Bluefish bait later in the season.

I know many here on this board fish north so lets talk about where Macks can be caught up north more reliably. Either by party boat or if possible by Kayak. Hell, I would hire a charter to go out and fill a few coolers with Macks if it was an option.

Does anyone here fish MA/NH etc for macks, anyone have any suggestions?

Capt. Jim on the Big Mac unfortunately passed away last year. Not sure if anyone is running his boat. I know Eastmans runs some mack trips and they do great, might even have half days all you can haul, but its more of a spring run for them.

Good Luck,

I have fished eastmans before. Looking at their past reports they had macks june and july. Looks like I might be taking a ride this june.

If I had a choice would rather take a charter if I am going to drive 6 hrs. If anyone knows of any I would appreciate a post.

I am sure Eastman's 6 pack boats could accomdate you. You could do a combo trip or just half day mackerel. Captain Ralph and Nate are very good.
