It's Musky Time!!
Well I guess it's always musky time, but now it's REALLY musky time. This has been an insane year of musky fishing, and yesterday was the 5th time I put multiple fish in the boat in New Jersey this year, not including a crazy trip to Lake St. Clair in July. Figured I'd share a little fish porn since I don't have to worry about anyone combing over the background for my spots. Lol. Please note these fish were handled properly. I have vinyl fabric glued to my boat to prevent removing excess slime. They were unhooked in the net in the water and out of the water for no more than 40 seconds to be photographed. Both swam away strong to fight another day. The true strain was a chunker. Gotta love fat fall muskies. Tight lines, catch and release!!!

All kidding aside, you've had a great year Mark. It's been fun watching your progress over the passed few years. Keep it up buddy.

Re: It's Musky Time!!
Lol. Thanks buddy. I don't even know those lily pads. A body of water that I've only fished twice and the first time this year. Really didn't expect those results. I've now caught a musky from 9 different bodies of water this year, 7 of them in New Jersey. That's a cool little stat if you ask me.

Re: It's Musky Time!!
Again, just a FYI to Central Jersey Anglers....
You don't have to live or treck to the big North Jersey lakes. Here in Central Jersey area we have Mercer County Park Lake which is one of the very few in mid state which has Muskies available. For many years now, the NJ DF&G has stocked both True Strain and Tiger Muskies in this lake. In recent years, there have been several caught (and released) here over 50 inches. PS- Too bad...for some reason the park department will not let you fish thru the ice on this lake. Over the years, I have sneaked out on the ice behind the Tennis Courts and fished for a few hours for Yellow perch before I got caught and chased off. They always threatened me with a citation, but never gave me one. I don't know if or why this is a rule on this lake. It is part of the Assunpink Chain of Lakes, and ice fishing is allowed on all the other lakes. Denny Last edited by Denlon; 11-08-2014 at 05:30 PM.. |
