halloween swan song /mixed bag lots a meat









capt's kevin gerrity and dave bender took long time customer joey dah fish zagorski along with steve shrimpman hanstein, tim sven of the hook wittig, todd hirsch of ocean and paul double hoops of idaho.. idaho?
joe wanted to do one last trip and todd had been cancelled several times this season so they twisted my arm to go, i honestly didn't want to go due to some recent bad weather and slow fishing but they insisited. i texted joe the evening before that we would troll a bigeye, and hope for the best. we arrived at the canyon at 2:30 october 30th and by 3:30 the shrimpman was hooked to a nasty bigeye, we thought the fish was going to be at least 200lbs as we were on him for over an hour, using the boat to plane him up. big steve did a fantastic job as did todd, and joe. i kidded with kevin on the way out that i wanted to hear his signals one more time yelling from the cockpit " ahead!" well we stuck the gaff into a nice 150pound bigeye and in my book it was already a great trip. we set up in sloppy conditions..wind against the tide..and caught a longfin right away. sometime latter that night we had a swordfish in the boat as todd did a great job whipping him.the rest of the night was pretty slow as we released a small sword and lost another nice one, we waited for the dawn bite only to catch one more longfin. we went back on the troll looking to close the season with one more bigeye but all we could manage was another longfin.. release ##%%&&
it was a very trying season as we had good fishing in july and august until the wind howled in september forcing us to cancel most of our trips. i can't thank joey enough for taking the last shot at going offshore, we absolutely love being on the edge and putting our friends and customers on the big fish. next year will be our 16th season and we would like to thank all of our customers, suppliers and peers for once again making the offshore experience amazing.

Great trip guys. Joey "pushy" on a canyon trip No way Kudos Dave as always for explaining the best options.
Fish on the deck again and wish I could have been there. Agreed Dave any Bigeye and add sword action to your comment is a successful trip.
Congrats! Will be back and ready I hope for next season.

Great trip as usual capt Dave and Kevin know that pelagic game out there in the canyon very well they always manage to get us on some fish thanks for a lot of great memories big eyes and swords so much fun thank Jobey and crew for a fun time on the water until next year Sven of the hoooook

Capt Dave warned me on several occasions saying we might not catch any fish and he would be fine with us canceling. Very class act. Once again upon arrival he gave us the option. I just said with our luck, this boat, these
Capts and our crew there is no way we will get a skunk! Lets do it his. Sure enough they called it the day before saying we are gonna get us a big eye and we did!!!!! Then a couple Mahi , then a sword and so on. I just can't say enough able it the effort they put in to get us to the fish on the fish are n the box etc!!!! congrats on the 16tg season I think I may have only missed one. May you celebrate as many more as you like. All ready excited for next year. I love the Jenny Lee Caprs and crews and hope to be with you for how ever long you're willing to put up with me. Thanks for the great trips and all the great memories I have and will continue to make with you all. Look Jimmy we got a fresh one one!!!!!
