Portsmouth, NH White Hake Trip

Fished Sunday on a NS boat out of Portsmouth, NH. Trip was a blast with a great group of guys. Left the dock at 5:30 AM. Captain asked if we wanted to try and jig some Pollock so we made a quick stop which resulted in 2 Pollock being caught on the jig. After about 45 minutes on the jig, we made a move and anchored up on a wreck and started picking away. After 2 or 3 adjustments we beat on them pretty good. Trip ended with around 50 White Hake up to 30 lbs with quite a few double headers being decked. Dozen or so Pollock up to 28 Lbs and and another half dozen very nice sized Rose fish. Fished 450 to 500 feet range entire trip. The six of us went home with at least 20 lb bag of meat each. We pulled the plug a bit early and steamed from 30 miles off to hit the road at 3:00 PM for the 5+ hour drive home.

Recommend giving this a try perhaps with one of the sponsor boats up there, definitely worth 600 mile round trip.
