Miss Belmar - Excellent blue fishing today!

This morning, we fished east of Shark River Inlet along the edge of the mud hole with excellent results. There were plenty of readings and nice long drifts. We caught one drift that lasted over 2 hours and we had nonstop action catching 8-15 lb blues. They bit on Ava 47’s, plain & tailed, crocs and green and yellow bananas. Our pool was a tie between Mark Wisniewski from Westport, CT and Steve Shellhammer from Macurgie, PA with a 15.5 lb blue.

Sailing daily for blues from 7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and every Friday & Saturday night from 7:30 p.m. – 2:30 a.m.

Looking at those big bluefish reminds when I tried to eat one years ago. Turns my stomach. The strong smell when it was baking sent my wife to our neighbors. The kitchen stunk for two days. I fed it to our dogs.
But they are the very best fighting fish pound for pound N.J. has. But definitely not in the league for taste like seabass, codfish or ling.
