Took some nice relax time n hit the water from Clifton - Elmwood Park this weekend. Fish are def on the move n stayin active. Landed a few nice pike n missed a fatty, waited a lil 2 set the hook n when i did, all i got was a 2sec fight n my 8oz baitfish with a CLEAN slice thru the whole belly, guts n spine showin! DAAMN!! But jus couldn't find him after that.
Also, I started fishin bout 3years ago, n happened 2 hook into my 1st pike soon after. After landing my 1st batch n loosing bout a million, I learned they've got great fight n stamina, granted I was using ultralight bass gear.But I now wanted 2 catch a pike...by hand. Oh yeeaa, n finally yolked 1 up outta the water! What a friggin RUSH!! Didn't have 2go in the water, jus ceased the opportunity when presented. Took a pic, threw him back
!! Check off my list.... Wuts next.
