Default FISH TANK - Weekend Recap

Not much to write home about this weekend.

We had a charter on Sat and the crew insisted on leaving the dock at 11am. We warned them of the nasty S wind that kicks up in the afternoon, but they still wanted to go so off they went. It didn't take long for them to start feeling queezy, but I have to give it to em, they stayed at the rail! They started out fluking and had a few shorts and when the drift got too fast, Capt. Ed decided to move inshore where they had decent action with sea bass and triggers. Even though the conditions were against us, the guys had a good time and will hopefully be back soon.

We cancelled Sunday's trip due to the forecast. From what I heard, the weatherman finally got it right and we made the right call by staying tied to the dock. I guess 1 out of 100 aren't bad odds, right?!?

I knew the weatherman couldn't be right 2 days in a row so we decided to sail on Monday despite the forecast and I'm glad we did. It turned out to be one of the nicest days we have had all season! The fish were chewing, too, just not the size we were looking for. I think the final tally was around 35 keeper sea bass up to 4lbs, hundreds of shorts, 3 keeper fluke, and a nice trigger.

We still have 2 spots left on tomorrow's open boat sea bass trip. The cost is $90pp and we will be leaving at 6am. We're going to try some deeper water and see if the big boys want to come out and play! Please call or email me if you would like to join us.

~Capt. Kevin
