Took half a day off yesterday and hit some rivers to see whats going on now that its a bit cooler out. Went to the bait spot and some other spots on the crick to find the local Brown Trout in a feeding frenzy. I started off fishing for Gills and Rock Bass but after seeing the 100's of Trout surfacing I switched it up a bit. Managed to get all my bait and wack 4 Browns in the process, 2 @ 9-10 inches, 2 @ 12-14 inches, missed a few as well. I released the 2 small Browns cus they were cute, the other 2 weren't so lucky, LOL!!! Nice summer limit of Trout on July 31st!
Headed over to the invasive species grounds, water was pretty low, I didn't have to get my shorts wet for a change, YAY! No other anglers in sight except for a bunch of youngsters on the PA side. Casted my rods in and the fishing was super slowwwwwww, only 2 runoffs on live Gills. 2.5 hours go by and I'm wondering where the hell the fish are, then I remembered I had some other bait to use, HEHE! Chummed up the hole with some Gill and Trout chunks and it worked wonders. Let the Channel Cat parade begin, YEA BUDDY!!! In about 2 hours I got 5 Channels between 4 and 8.1 lbs. I'm happy with that, nice assorted bag today. Pretty good action on this night considering there was ZERO for 2.5 hours. Pictured are the 2 biggest Channels of the night, 1st is 7lbs 10ozs, long and slim, 2nd is somewhere around 30 inches weighing 8lbs 1 oz. Relaxing, peaceful night on the river, couldn't ask for anything more. YEA BUDDY!!!! TIGHT LINEZ!!!!!!!
