![]() Got the itch last minute and with the upcoming weather reports for later in the week, decided to sneak out for a few hours after work.
Last few times out we were fishing Clams but with reports of Bunker all over Sandy Hook and Raritan Bays, we thought we'd give Bunker Fishing a shot. Threw the net several times close to home on scattered Bunker to no avail. Brother Joe was busy snagging a few dozen pieces for the live well and off we went. I need to get better on the net or Joe needs to be more patient ![]() Did a drift or 2 live lining with out a touch so we set the anchor chunked heads on the bottom and live lined. The heads did the trick I got 1 Joe had 4. Our livies did get chased a few times but did not connect. Once the incoming tide slowed we lost the fish but it was a nice flurry for a few hours. God was smiling on us today. We watched some pretty heavy walls of rain to our north, west and south but we stayed put and all we got was a sprinkle or two. Must have rained pretty good at the marina but by the time we pulled into the dock to clean up the boat it was over. Got to love last minute trips and dodging the rain. I didn't get wet but watching the Bunker jizz water from the live well fill up Joes boots every time the boat rocked was a bonus ![]() PS Spoke to several guys back at the dock who were fishing out and around front and they got covered up with 8 -10 pound Bluefish...
