![]() In a boat I have seen 4 on planer boards, 6 stacked up on down riggers and 4 flatlined, so the answer is about 50. Shore fishing you are allowed 3.

![]() It dosn't seem quit fair only three on shore and as many as you want in a boat. We both buy the same license. Can anyone give any logic For this rule? In the Delaware its three from boat or shore.

![]() in a boat ur trolling/moving around and the access to water is equal amongst boats, whereas on the shore there is limited access and the logic is 3 rods to leave room for others to fish. I have often trolled 8-10 rods solo so I shouldnt talk lol

![]() They changed the law about three years ago in New Jersey to prevent shoreline fisherman from setting up 30 rods and monopolizing the entire shoreline. People were getting pissed off on smaller lakes when people took 50 yards of prime fishing property with their rods.

![]() thanks for the replies. I was just curious as New York state only recently passed the 3 rod per person rule on Lake Ontario. I saw guys with as many as 8 rods fishing by themselves. I often question how they keep all those lines from being devastated by a big fish. It is one thing with help in the boat quite another by yourself.
