cool story,,, Just kind of sad that a really magnificent creature that beat the odds for so long will wind up in japan on the $300 sushi plates being eaten by wealthy Japanese businessmen discussing overseas trade during lunch...
Or maybe just some steaks on the ice at Shoprite... bob

No matter what it should be illegal to sell and export giant BFT!!!Same old shit with commercial long liners raping the ocean.It would be like only taking large female spawning striped bass.

This should be designated as R & R fishery only withs very restrictive export tonnage, however what takes a LL hook is uncontrollable & I'm sure by catch kill would skyrocket!!
No easy fix here w/ o imposing stringent laws like Canadians ! When I fished then years back , they were valueless , most carcasses dragged back to sea after locals hacked off a few steaks !
