Ice yes,no,maybe?????
Anybody out on the ice today? If you were, Where and how thick was it?
Was thinking of heading out sunday if so. Big Cold front coming so that should help for next week! Wanted to know if thereis any safe stuff still fishable.

GWL is thin and not safe. Definitely not worth the drive.

Fished hopatcong today for a short window figured i was half wsy there why not check it out had about 4 inches not safe enough for my likings didnt venture around to much will be better this weekend im pumped!

There will be a ton of ice by the weekend. No worries. Found some ice today but it was sketchy in my opinion!!!!

I stopped by Little Swartz last Sunday and the ice looked pretty good - was just checking it out with the wife so didn't drill any holes but looked better than I expected. Big Swartz looked real good too. Both should be great by now.
It was funny though that Paulinskill Lake which is only a about a mile away was almost totally open that day. Speaking of which, anybody ever try that place?

Good to hear UglyStick. Always drive passed Paulinskill on my way to Swartswood but never fished it. From what I've heard, its fairly shallow and nothing special. Usual NNJ species (LMB, Pickerel, Panfish).

fished gwl monday just north of the big island and the ice was fine
