Default Pompton/Passaic/Pohat 12-27/28

Took the Yak out Friday on the Pompton & Passaic.

Started @the 202 ramp behind mountain view/hoffman grove and ended @Fern river park on the passaic. Man do I need a new yak, that thing is too small for me now! Gona get a 12' pelican i think in Feb.

It was my worst pike/bass trip ever with not even a bite . I threw everything and hit every go-to spot along the whole stretch!

Anyone have any advice for winter Pike?? shoot me a PM!

Today i took my Dad & older bro to the musky/pohat for trout. Ended up with 3 (ugly) rainbows & 2 browns. All out of 1 hole. Good time with the fam squad.

Finally nice to be fishing instead of working!!

Yes they are ugly rainbows, just as ugly as the bows I got out of the Pequest today. Still a good catch dude. Great day to be out and about!!! Good stuff!!!

Thumbs up Re: Pompton/Passaic/Pohat 12-27/28

The trout don't look that ugly to me, full fins, just have that dark winter color. Cool pics, glad to see you guys out there beatin' it up !

Passaic and Pompton have been slow for me also. Fished both this morning with only a jumbo Yellow Perch to show. Watched a Peregrine chase down and miss a Kingfisher which was pretty cool.
