Default Party Boat Angler Friday Report

We had a good bite right away this morning with the best action in the bow. Plenty of bites with shorts and keepers coming over the rail. Anchoring became a problem with both lines going slack. NOAA had a small craft warning from 10 AM on . We could have used some wind to keep the anchor lines tight. Check out some photos the ocean was slick calm. Any way when we got some conditions and could sit tight we had good action again. For most it was a good day.

Joe in the first picture took his second in a row pool with a 7 pound tog.

I never got to the north today where there should be some ling mixed in. The NY black fish season is closed and they are ling fishing. It did not sound like they caught much today. One good thing is there is now less pressure on the tog.

SAILING AT 7:00 AM TOMORROW. GALLEY OPEN.

AS OF NOW SUNDAY DOSE NOT LOOK GOOD WITH SOUTH WINDS TO 40'

THANKS CAPTAIN GEORGE

The kid in the last picture fished next to me for most of the day with a rental rod. Mates Joe and Mike spent some time with him teaching him how to tog. He lost a lot of lead but by the end of the day he caught a couple keepers. Good job guys!

Blackfish Joe is on Fire. Will need to stop by the station and have some of his good mojo rub off on me for some pool fish. Have caught plenty of fish but biggest so far has only been 8 lbs

In a post that was put up earlier this week, a guy questioned what gear to use when fishing for blackfish, stated he didn't want to commit to purchasing any gear until he got the chance to actually go and see if he'd like it...if that was him, I'd bet that now he's "hooked". Good job to the mates for putting in the time to break in a newbie!
