Golden Eagle - Good Monday Striperthon
A pretty good day of STRIPER fishing. There was action on both keepers to 30lbs and shorts along with some Blues.
We had a couple of drifts very early in the morning before most other boats were out with Keepers & shorts. Around mid day it was action with shorts and later in the afternoon we had several drifts were we caught more keepers & shorts. The pool fish was a 30lb Bass and we had a couple of other Bass in the 15 to 20lb range along with several 30 inch fish and many near misses (27 inch) with the shorts. The hot jigs were the Run Off gold hammer jigs. STRIPERTHON FRIDAY - WE LEAVE THE DOCK AT 6:00AM The GOLDEN EAGLE sails daily for STRIPERS & BLUES at 7:30am (except Striperthon days) from Belmar Marina in Belmar, NJ. Excellent! Good to hear some keepers came back within range. Still a lot of fishing left, plenty of time to sit home over the winter. Nice and warm tomorrow, can't wait to get out there!
