Default Dorothy B Super Saturday bottom fishing

Again the catch was dominated by porgies with a smattering of blowfish but a sea bass took the pool. Richie Dynes nailed a beauty later in the day to win it all. Everybody went home with lots of filet. Thanks to our crew today for a great outing!

We are continuing with the bottom fishing for now but we will be switching to STRIPERS at some point soon. We will keep you posted.

It was a good day... Porgies were pretty hot much of the day.. Sea Bass could have been hotter, but hey thats fishing.. It was nice talking to you today, I'll be in touch with you about some of your very impressive rigs..

So strange,, my brother lives 1 street away from you , and has for decades, and the first time you meet is fishing in the Atlantic Ocean... My first time on the dorothy B, I will be back..
I like the cleaning job the mates did on the porgies too ...
I usually don't like the way mates filet fish, preferring my own methods, but these were very well done, and thats a big compliment, considering the piles of porgies they had to clean.. I enjoyed the fishing trip with my brother.. Did NOT enjoy the ride back to candor NY ... bob

We kept running into that gargantuan catamaran[ actually a trimaran] "research vessel" thats been in the area this week... It almost seemed as if they wanted to run the fishing boats off, plowing right toward us while at anchor.. Damn thing was all over the place.. i have no idea what exactly it was looking for, but it was all over the Ambrose area and several miles down the Hook all day, right around the hundreds of boats that were fishing...bob

Same thing happened to us on Friday.... We were anchored up and the Survey Boat steamed right up on us horn blearing for us to move... He turned at the last minute...Tough to give way to a working boat when you are on anchor.
