Skeet Reese at Dick's Sporting Goods Today

Today I got to meet and talk bass fishing one on one with Skeet Reese - Professional Angler at the new Dick's Sporting Goods in S. Plainfield, NJ today.....Out of all the famous people I have ever met, Skeet is a down to earth and humble as they come....We talked about his childhood and growing up fishing w/ his dad and also I showed him some pics on my phone of fish I have caught and gave him the inside scoop on Muskie and Bass fishing in NJ, which he was interested in knowing about....The most valuable tip he gave me was big baits means big fish..... He was so nice and patient and it was a meeting I will always remember...Thank you for a pleasant experience Mr. Reese and have a nice flight home tonight.

Get a Net....Well, having been to alot of Dick's Sporting Goods stores, this is definately the smallest fishing dept. of the ones I have been to.....but, you have to consider they just opened up......They have tons of standard Dick's brands....Rapala,Berkeley,Strike King.Heddon,Mepps,Rebel....all the common stuff.....tons of plastics(all the standard stuff other Dick's carry),.....however they didn't have some things I was specifically looking to pick up that other Dick's stores carry....Again, they just opened and I am sure by prob. next season will have a better selection......when a new store opens they all get the same basic stuff on a planogram and they see what sells from there and adjust accordingly over time what sells and what doesn't....I would think with that area being a nice area for fishing, they will do it right by next season or before then.....I didn't even look at rods and reels at all.....

The best part of yesterday was that for the store opening, all lures were buy 1 get 2 free so I took advantage of that with just a few things I wouldn't normally buy and stocked up on some big Pike and Musky Spinners.......I spent 35.00 but got 100.00 worth of tackle........not sure if that was only a 1 day sale.....

Check it out if you are in the area.......There are always good sales in the clothes dept ....esp. now that summer is over they have like 75% off alot of shorts and T-s.....and sneakers also

Yeah the buy 1 get 2 free is def not the norm and probably a very limited promotion there running. That being said I will be going there today haha. Very cool though id love to meet mike iaconelli and pick his brain on fishing jersey waters. Glad you had a good time out there today mitch and tight lines brotha!

awesome mitch! that guy can really fish, hes one of the better guys on the trail. the autographed pic is cool Id frame it haha. wish I woulda known about the 1 for 2, I woulda stocked up on some trolling baits. Dicks can have some good stuff depending on what store ur in, the one is rockaway is pretty big and has a good variety, even some highend stuff too
