![]() JERSEY COAST ANGLERS ASSOCIATION 19TH ANNUAL FLUKE TOURNAMENT
AUGUST 24TH, 2013 Jersey Coast Anglers Association (JCAA) will hold its 19th Annual Fluke Tournament on August 24th, 2013 and the Awards Ceremony is scheduled for September 6th at the Golden Nugget Hotel/Casino in Atlantic City. The Grand Prize this year is between $5,000-$10,000* in cash and the first place port prize is still $1,200. *Depending on number of entries over 500 Ten Great Reasons to Enter 19th Annual JCAA Fluke Tournament on August 24th One - Thousands of dollars in cash and prizes! Two - A great day of fishing fun with family and friends! Three - A gala awards celebration at Golden Nugget Hotel Casino! Four - Ten ports to fish from -- each with a $1,200 first prize! Five - An evening at fun-filled Atlantic City! Six - Your chance to win $5,000 cash without even catching a fish! Seven - A drawing for more door prizes than you can shake a graphite rod at! Eight - A chance to take five of your friends or family fishing! Nine -100 fabulous port prizes! Ten chances to win at each port. Odds like this you won't see in Vegas. Ten - You'll be helping the Jersey Coast Anglers Association fight to protect your fishing rights and the marine environment! HUNDREDS OF CHANCES TO WIN This event is actually ten mini-tournaments in one. Each weigh station has its own set of prizes for the heaviest fluke brought to the scales including $1,200 cash for first place: LBI port donated by Fisherman Headquarters, Manasquan port donated by Canyon Reels, Atlantic City port donated by Golden Nugget and the rest of the ports donated by JCAA, a Yukon Cooler donated by Igloo/Yukon Coolers, trolling motors donated by Minn Kota, bottom paint donated by Interlux Paint, $250 in gift certificates donated by West Marine, rods donated by Shakespeare, sunglasses donated by Costa, Gulp bait donated by Berkeley, reels donated by Penn, fishing line donated by Spiderwire and --------donated by Nor'east Saltwater Magazine. That's a total of 100 port prizes! But there is more, much more! Contestants register in one of 10 ports from Sandy Hook to Fortescue, each with easy access weigh stations. You compete only against those boats registered in that port for the generous list of port prizes. Once again, the Golden Nugget Hotel Casino has opened its arms and its pocketbook to help us and we can't thank them enough! We hope you will remember they are concerned about your fishing and the ocean environment any time you are heading to Atlantic City because we sure do! This year the JCAA wishes to welcome aboard IglooYukon/ Coolers as a brand new port prize sponsor. Come to the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City and have a great time! THE DRAWING WITHIN THE TOURNAMENT In addition to your chance to win any of the port prizes by using your fishing skills, every boat entered has a shot at winning the Grand Prize of $5,000 and a host of door prizes. These will be given away as part of a huge drawing at the gala awards ceremony hosted by the Golden Nugget Hotel Casino in Atlantic City on September 6th, 2013. At least one member from your crew must be present for you to win these door prizes. There will be plenty of fun at the awards ceremony and you will have a chance to meet the JCAA volunteer staff. Tournament T-shirts and hats will be available. Come early and meet the sponsors and have fun! Port prizes and door prizes will, once again, be presented at the event by our master of ceremonies, Dr. Pat Donnelly. PORT UPDATE Due to Hurricane Sandy, tournament entries this year are way down so there is a good chance in taking a prize with a small, (but legal) fish. As of Wednesday , August 14th, here are the ports and the number of entrants registered in each port: Manasquan River - 33 entrants Sandy Hook - 27 entrants Barnegat Inlet - 29 entrants LBI -20 entrants Shark River -22 entrants Great Bay - 22 entrants Cape May - 141 entrants Fortescue -9 entrants Ocean City - 8 entrants Atlantic City - 7 entrants Even though entries are down, we are still paying out thousands of dollars in port prize money, the $5,000 Grand Prize drawing in AC and the many door prizes that will be given away also in AC. So get your entry in now! Thank you, Paul Turi Tournament Director Jersey Coast Anglers Association About Jersey Coast Anglers Association The Jersey Coast Anglers Association is a non-profit organization formed in 1981. The original objective of the JCAA was to combine a loosely fragmented group of marine sportfishing clubs in order to form and promote a united consensus on issues relevant to saltwater anglers in New Jersey. Over the years, the mission of the JCAA has remained unchanged, but now has the added goal of joining forces with organizations having similar objectives in states along the East Coast and national organizations. While the JCAA is relatively young, it has emerged as the most effective organization of its kind on the East Coast. For more information, or for information about becoming a member of the JCAA, please call (732) 506-6565 or visit www.JCAA.org.

![]() I like the different port prize idea but think the grand prize should go to biggest fish of tournament overall, not just random out of hat drawing.
So answer is no i am not fishing tournament.

![]() NOAA is showing 10kts for Sat but ENE... Could be a little tough but definitely looks to be fishable... I agree with the grand prize going to the largest fish out of all ports, but this way gives me an excuse to go to AC for the weekend...
