![]() Keep in mind that many manmade dams keep invasive fish from moving upstream as well - such as brown trout invading brook trout headwaters.
They can displace the brookies within a few years. Not so good for our state fish. Generally it is a win-win siatuation but we must be careful and choose wisely what to take down and what not to especially on small streams. Anything on larger rivers is a no brainer - get rid of 'em.
