Default Ken lockwood gorge 7/14

Well finally finished up working on my boat ready to get her wet this wknd and finally hit the freshwater decided to stay close to home so hit the gorge. Water was decent level and colder than i thought was going be fished from parking lot to trestle managed five to commit four landed all fish came on plugs some in the white water some in the deeper pools, did manage a nice rainbow that peeled some line and tail danced down the river, river still holding some fish so get out there and get some guys!

Last time I posted a report from the Gorge in July I got yelled at for killing fish due to high water temps. Meanwhile I had a hard time finding a spot to fish among all the fly fishermen that were in there.

From GST.........

"Look at the guy on njfishing.com fishing th gorge yesterday , nice , what a sportsman . By the way signs about temps I think are a good idea. No reason NJTU can't do it."

All im saying is i pay for my license an i have the right to fish for what i want i want when i want, all you can do is ignore people sometime when they start runnin their mouths and just for the record i release all freshwater fish in jersey and ny and pa so u try to atleast think ur doing the right thing. Until some idiot and as far as jersey goes trout wise there are stocked fish mostly small in size there will be more next year when they stock again but releasing them myself at least i feel they got a chance to survive also in my opinion i think all tca areas should be catch and release

They are implying that it was too hot to fish and that those trout died after swimming away.

There's another thread over there where they are arguing amongst themselves about the stream temperatures... It's sad really, the only posts that get any number of replies on GST are ones where they are talking about threads over here on NJF or arguing about something. The two or three threads per week over there that are actually about fishing only get one or two replies and then die.

Not every message board can be as good as this one. I was on NJfishfinder.com for a little while but the anglers there just didn't have the experience that is evident here, so I wasn't learning anything.
