Fluke slaughter on the Ginger - Neptune, N.J.

I had the pleasure of running a friends boat today. Ginger out of Neptune. 23 foot Boston Whaler Outrage with twin 130 hp Mercury engines. Great riding and fishing machine.
We first stopped off Asbury Park which did not pan out. Too many skates. Next stop was a rocky slope in 45' of water off Deal I have been relying on for many years. It didn't let us down. it was one fluke after another in a 100 yard area most of the morning. I then moved the boat off Long Branch where the action with bigger fish was non stop. Late in the day i went back to the Deal spot and it was more furious then the am stop.
Captain Pat Rogers from Landing , N.J., Don Marantz From Wall Ttownship and myself boated an easy fifty fluke. We all had our limits up to four pounds. We released another six keepers. Very productive day. The bite was incredable. Fish caught on 2-3 oz. Joe Fishler double hook buctktail jigs baited with whole smelts from Shop-Rite.
