Canyon Runner 48 Report - 16 Yellowfin

[Canyon Runner]

Capt Deane Lambros and Capt Greg Ryback and mate Peter Kane ran in overnighter Monday-Tuesday. It was a late leave so they elected to run right to the shark grounds. Running 50 miles SE on their way to the Wilmington . They set up for sharks around 6pm and had 4 bites and 2 blue sharks to the boat which were released. At 130 am they picked up and ran to the canyon they set out just below the Wilmington and trolled south. Picking a single yellow fin and double header in 200 fathoms of the south Hayes. They worked south on the bank making it to the NE corner of the Baltimore and started picking away on yellow fins. Most of these fish were small 26-33 inches, but they also pulled out 3 larger 35# models as well. Most of these fish came on Canyon Runner squid bars and mini margarita bars and Joe Shute skirted hoo's. They ended up with 16 yft's for the day. Boxing 9 and releasing 7 shorts. With a happy charter they wrapped the trip up around 2pm and headed for the barn.
