Default Block Island Stipers On Fire

Fished the Block this weekend. Fished the heavy surf, light surf, and in between. First night was rewarded with a beautiful 38 in striper along with several others between 24-35 inches. Not to mention several fluke of various sizes...all caught after dark. Second night, a little tougher with only 3 stipers going to 32 inches and a handful of bluefish and a midnight fluke that I am guessing at 6-7 lbs. Last night there and game ON! Started bailing 3-5 lb blues till the sun set and then ~ 10 pm all stipers. Managed 15 from 24-36 inches in the surf. Fish were measured with a measuring tape in the dark with a hat light. Sorry, no pics in the dark and in the surf. Fished till the morning and between 4-5 and the most unbelievable bluefish blitz hit the beach. Fish every cast after cast after cast. Having an entire beach to myself catching stripers and a few blues, in the complete dark, under the most breath-taking star-light sky...priceless

At least we know now what the answer is to "where did the stripers go?".

Well done sir, sounds like a great trip!

Amazing fishing and especially on a clear night you could see the Milky Way Galaxy across the sky at night at BI. Never saw that before until doing night fishing is RI.

Dont agree with that statement 100% - they should be starting to get fish there while we are chuck full of bass as well... this time of year...

We should be at peak! and Block and Montauk should just be getting ready..

Catching more Stipers in one weekend than usually caught all season in the surf in NJ under the FULL Panorama of the Milk Way is, well, just too awesome and I can't wait to get back. Once your have the "Block' fever you never shake it off.

Fluking off the block is just as memorable, me and my boy brought in an excess of 20 lbs bag of fillets on one magic hour trip. Each fish was in excess of 6 lbs (6 to 8 lbs on average)....
